Documents to review before payment

Serbian Customs states that the vehicle must be identifiable from the submitted documentation. The core documents normally include the registration document and proof of purchase.

For proof of purchase, the authority identifies an original invoice or a purchase agreement. If an agreement is used, the seller's signature must be certified by the competent authority. Auction vehicles can require an appropriate export certificate when the registration document is unavailable.

Why origin and conformity matter

Buying a vehicle in the European Union does not automatically prove that the vehicle has preferential EU origin. Customs treatment can depend on the actual origin and the prescribed supporting evidence.
